Xenos-5 (엑스파이브, often referred to as X-5 or X-Five[1]), is a South Korean boy band with five members, formed under Open World Entertainment in 2011. 'XENOS', is an allomorph for the Greek word of 'stranger', where the name 'X-5' (referring to 5 Xenos), originated from. This means they are not ordinary and their group's color is unique and different.[2]

After being officially announced by Open World Entertainment that they were debuting another boy band early 2011, X-5 debuted on April 20, 2011 with their song 'The Show is Over' at their debut showcase. On April 22, 2011, they officially debuted through KBS2's Music Bank with 'The Show is Over' ('쇼하지마'), also known as 'Don't Put On An Act', after releasing the respective music video.

History

2011: Debut and Single-Album, XENOS and Mini-Album, DANGEROUS

On April 22, 2011, X-5 made their debut performance on Music Bank with their first song "The Show is Over" (Korean: 쇼하지마).

Their first dance/synth-sound single-album Xenos was released on April 22, 2011 and included their debut song "The Show is Over" (Korean: 쇼하지마), 'Fantasy', as well as the song "Get Off Me" (Korean: 내 눈 앞에 띄지 마). X-5 went on to promote the songs off of their Xenos single overseas, starting from Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, etc. Later, the song 'Fantasy' released on their Xenos single was marked for over '19' years of age due to the lyrics 'party in the club'. [3] X-5 became well-known with the surprising fact that all of the members exceed the height of 180cm, earning them nicknames such as 'tall-dols', 'model-dols', etc. [4]

After debut, X-5 received love-calls from all around Asia.[5] X-5 let themselves be known as the first rookie group to be called as 'Hallyu-dols' by performing in large scale concerts such as "Korean Music Wave", "KIMCHI", "K-POP MUSIC FESTIVAL", etc. They have so far toured Japan, Singapore, and Indonesia, and is receiving interest from all over the world extending in the directions from east to west.

On December 9, 2011, X-5 released their first mini-album DANGEROUS which includes their title track "Dangerous". They are currently in promotions at this moment.
